Watch Gone (2012) Online

The film ‘Gone’ tells the story of a woman who is possibly insane & the production has been very well cast with the choice of Amanda Seyfried in the main role. Her natural appearance works perfectly with the character she plays, Jill, a woman who is desperately trying to prove to everyone that she is not crazy.

The reason that many people think she might have lost her mind is because she was abducted a year before the events we see in the film. She was taken out into the forest & thrown in a deep hole with the body of another woman. This is one of the core mysteries in the film & it is a key part of the story as Jill fears that her sister has been kidnapped in the same way that she was & by the same person.

This is a film that could very easily have been messed up & most audience members will go in with fairly low expectations. Fortunately, the film as a tremendous surprise & the absorbing characters & pace of the film make it a very entertaining adventure.

After the kidnapping of the previous year Jill was put in a mental hospital yet has since been released & is living with her sister while working a night job. What is clear is that she has not received over the kidnapping & the entire thing is made worse by the fact that the authorities doubt her story, as there seems to be no evidence that it ever happened.

Her character is unquestionably paranoid & she is on several medications to deal with this. She is haunted by the abduction & the audience are left wondering themselves whether the events actually happened. It is very effortless to empathise with the character & you hope that she is not crazy & that her story is true.

One morning when Jill comes back from work sister is missing & she calls the police. The investigator doesn’t really believe what she is saying & thinks that Jill is mentally unstable. Jill however is convinced that her sister has been taken by the same man that took her & she goes on a mission to find her sister & find the man responsible for her kidnapping at the same time.

The film is an superior thriller & it doesn’t involve unnecessary amounts of violence & outrageous stunts. It has enough action to keep you interested & there are some superior car chases. There are plenty of twists along the way to keep the audience hooked & the pace of the film is excellent. You don’t expect this sort of film to be comical yet there are tremendous moments of comedy in it & they come at the most unexpected moments.

The script is satisfactory yet it is the actors who really manage to pull off this film. They managed to draw you into the film & you really feel as if you share the same paranoia as Jill. Overall, Gone is unquestionably worth watching.
